Frequently Asked Questions
What services do you offer?
As a registered nurse specialising in mental health and learning disabilities and an accredited CBT therapist I often pull from a range of psychological therapies
My main therapy delivery is cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) however each individual’s needs are different and we will agree a plan upon our first session. This may be work with others around you.
I focus on anxiety and depressive disorder.
Do you offer online session?
Yes - I offer video calls, emails and telephone sessions as well as limited face to face sessions.
How long does Therapy last?
CBT can be short‑term (6-20 sessions) but therapy isn’t one‑size‑fits‑all. Some people come for a few weeks, others for longer. We review regularly so it stays helpful.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions usually last 50 minutes - this may be longer or shorter if required dependent on personal preference and need.
What should I expect in my first session?
Your first session is a gentle chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s been going on for you, what you’d like support with, and what you hope to get out of therapy. I’ll explain how I work, answer any questions, and together we’ll decide what feels most helpful moving forward. There’s no pressure to share anything before you’re ready — the pace is always yours.
It also helpful to remember that change takes time - be patient with yourself.
